Meditation at Hikari dojo provides students the opportunity to relax deeply into the source of their being, expand their understanding of themselves, quiet busy minds, and connect more deeply to spirit. Spiritual practices support meditation. At Hikari Dojo students are taught the use of postures (asana), breathing practices (pranayam), the use of sacred sound ( mantras, and kotodama), to support and deepen the practice of meditation.
Hikari Dojo offers two shugyo (spiritual practices) classes: one based on the Science of Kundalini Maha Yoga, and the second based on practices in which O’sensei the founder of Aikido engaged: purification (misogi), practices of breathing, chanting sacred sound (kotodama), and meditation (chinkon). Together these paths provide students at Hikari Dojo the opportunity to tread the path of AI (love, harmony) KI (spirit, energy) DO (path) fully.
